In the first years of life, the feet develop the most, which means that proper footwear has an extraordinary impact on the motor development of our youngest.
In the warm months, we can certainly try to follow the rule: as much barefoot as possible, but footwear cannot be avoided throughout the year. Therefore, we must encourage the quality and natural development of the child's foot with footwear that mimics the barefoot foot as much as possible — meaning it is soft, flexible, and adapted to the foot arch. This applies not only to children's shoes but also to children's slippers, in which the child spends more than a third of the day. These serve as support for the first steps and all subsequent activities.
The correct shoe size is key to proper foot development.
When choosing, we must not forget how important it is to select the right size of children's slippers or shoes. Otherwise, the footwear will be too small for the child, causing uncomfortable squeezing and improper development, or too large, making the child's walking unstable.
Since children are constantly on the move, choosing the right size can be a real challenge.
But don't worry, we have a little trick for you to easily determine the size of children's slippers or other children's footwear. Follow our simple guide to measuring your child's foot, which will save you energy, time, and money.
How to choose the right size?
Step 1
Take paper, a pen, and a measuring tape. Place the paper on the floor against a door or wall.
Step 2
Have the child step barefoot on the paper so that the heel touches the wall.
Step 3
Mark the tip of the longest toe and the widest points of the foot with the pen.
Step 4
Measure the distance between the marked points on the paper.
Every child develops individually. To determine the right size, it is necessary to measure the foot, but make sure the child’s toes are not curled during the measurement.
Find the measurement in our size chart, which you can find on the individual product page.
